This summer explore some of the most beautiful parts of the country. Although there are many beautiful places in our country, Here are some that are incredibly beautiful and visual delights.
LACHEN AND LACHUNG (SIKKIM)
Most of the people going Sikkim will just explore Gangtok and may be Nathula pass. Many few might actually know about these two gems in the tiny state of Sikkim. Both of these towns are approximately 100 km from Gangtok and must be visited to get an experience of the local culture and serenity. Lachung is famous for spotting the rhododendron tree. It is also home of quite a few beautiful monasteries where one can experience extreme peace and tranquillity.
A trip to lauchen must also include a visit to a lovely Gurudongmar Lake, which is one of the highest lakes in the world.
NEIL ISLAND (ANDAMAN)
The Andamans is an excellent destination to explore. However, most of the people end up visiting only Port Blair, Havelock and Ross islands. Neil island, on the other hand is relatively unexplored place. The Bharatpur and Laxmanpur beaches on Neil island are visual delight and do not get very crowed, even during the peak season. It also provides the facility of viewing the corals in the sea through a glass boat, which is a good activity for marine lovers.
Kausani is a small yet mesmerizing hill station in Uttrakhand. It provides a lovely view of the greater Himalayas and is the perfect place for a honeymoon, due to its peaceful atmosphere, the lush green surroundings and its tranquillity. What makes Kausani so appealing is the fact that it has very pleasant weather and can be visited at any time of the year.
PANGONG LAKE (JAMMU AND KASHMIR)
Pangong lake is one of the largest brackish lakes in Asia. It is located at 5 hours drive from Leh in the Laddakh region of J&K. The first glimpse of the tranquil, azure blue waters and shaky lake shore is unforgettable. If you remember it is shown in the last scene of 3 Idiots.
SPITI (HIMACHAL PRADESH)
Spiti valley is famous for its snow capped peaks and natural surroundings. Spiti is for those who dare to drift from the tourist trails. Here you can hike with snow leopard and Himalayan natural habitats. Spiti has 1000 years old monasteries which samples a fascinating culture and cuisine different from the rest of the India.
NUBRA VALLEY (JAMMU AND KASHMIR)
It is located on the north east of laddakh valley in J&K. Here the Shyok river meets the Nubra or Siachen river to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram range. Ultrawide landscapes, humongous mountain faces, lovely trails, wide variety of colors and musical Shyok river flowing midst the valley will take your breath away at first site.
TAWANG (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)
Tawang is a holy site for Tibetan Buddhist. It is both historically and naturally endowed. The natural beauty and solitude of Gudpi and Chong-Chungmi ranges, Twanag chu river and Tawang valley are very mesmerising. There are many beautiful lakes in and around Tawang with crystal blue water such as Sela lake, Bangqachang lake and many more.. They remain frozen in winter and in summer they become haven for migratory birds.
It is the highest peak in the state of West Bengal. Sandakphu can be reached in two different ways, either by car or by trekking. It is the only trek with views of the 4 tallest mountains in the world (Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu). The place is shiny and colorful with eternal beauty of magnolias, rhododendrons, primulas and other sub-alpine flowers.
Devukullam is a hill station in Kerala, about 8 km from Munnar. Velvet lawns, low hanging clouds over hills, exotic flora and fauna, Sita Devi lake and cool mountain air is a rare experience. Devikullam has numerous opportunities to explore through trekking and hiking.
Gokarana is a small temple town on the Western coast. It is famous for its temple dedicated to lord Shiva and Om beach. Framed by the majestic Western Ghats, the beaches are clean and sparsely crowded. Devotees visit Gokarna in large numbers during the Maha shivratri festival. The town is decorated for four days and the temple deity is taken out on a procession.
